12 more weeks...CrAZy

I can't believe we have "12 more weeks" until Aubrey is coming! Time is certainly zooming by. As you have probably read I definitely have had some stress lately and it leads me into my weight gain...haha. Last appointment on May 20Th I gained 7 lbs so I am now at 194, I can't believe it!! I am still happy that I have only gained 18 lbs this whole pregnancy and I am still smaller with Aubrey than I was with Brooklyn, gotta look at the positives.

Dr. Beck said I was measuring big at my last appointment so I jokingly, and half seriously, said "Are you saying I am eating too much?!" he then replied "Your baby does get what you eat..." I honestly can't tell you if he was joking or not, but I assume he was answering the same way I had asked! He will do an ultrasound next appointment if I continue to measure big.

Last appointment I also had to take the glucose test, I literally chugged my orange drink in one take! Who knew your throat could burn from a non carbonated drink?! Usually it's the soda that does that but nope. I haven't heard back from them and they said "No news is good news" so even though I have gained a bit I am glad I don't have gestational diabetes. {knock on wood}

Other than that I am doing good. Still not too uncomfortable, I am starting to toss more at night but some nights I can't even tell I am prego. Aubrey is getting bigger so I do feel her more and it's starting to get a little tighter for her to move.

About 2 weeks ago I watched my little 2.5 month old niece Lexi over night while Ashley and Chad went to a resort for their anniversary. It went very well, Lexi was a piece of cake! Brooklyn loved it too.

Lexi got here at about 1 and went down at 2. Slept till 5:30.
Fed her and she was back down at about 7:45 pm.
She slept till 5:30 am, took 4 ounces of milk, went back to sleep until 9:30.
Took her to church at 10, she was awake for most of it but when we got home she went back down and slept until her parents came to get her!

Now tell me that wasn't easy?!? Brooklyn loved talking to her and here is a picture of them "hanging out". I put Lexi in the chair first and Brooklyn crawled up next to her. I put on her show, during it Lexi cooed and Brooklyn looked over at her, laughed, said "oh bad guy" and back to the screen. Like her and Lexi were talking. It was SO cute.

I am hoping Aubrey is like her cousin Lexi and will be a great sleeper! It was a nice practice round for us.

Other than that I am doing good. Enjoying my time with just Brookie as you can see. I've decided to hold off on potty training until after baby comes, I don't want the last few months with Brooklyn to be more stressful so we are just waiting. I want to be able to take her places and not have to worry about bathrooms, accidents, etc.

Now time to go play with Brookie

Unwanted and Unneeded!!

About 3 weeks ago I was getting ready to go into the dentist for a cleaning, first one of the year. I was going to have my teeth cleaned by Jilene so I wanted to make sure my insurance was still good for it and what not. I called her office and gave the receptionist my id # and group #....Well....
Turns out they canceled it, not knowing why I called Aetna and spoke with a rep there.

To make a long story short this is what ended up happening. Since we moved out here to QC we never changed our address till Feb of this year, in order to get our W2 forms for our taxes. Once we did that, we were "no longer in the covered area" so they "sent us a letter" stating we were being canceled from Clark's insurance. What's ridiculous is Clark works for Aetna!! It shouldn't matter if we moved 5 miles more away, he should still be able to get coverage.

So...we had to file an appeal. Meanwhile we were getting my doctor office bills from my March and April visits which we had no idea we weren't covered then. So from Feb all 3 of us were uninsured...We were definitely blessed that nothing critical happened to us during those months. After finding all of this out I went into stress mode!

We CAN'T afford a baby uninsured.
Clark makes to much to get state assistance.
What do I do about the doctor appointments I had setup already?
Why didn't they inform us sooner?? Aubrey is coming in 3 months!!
What about the previous doctor visit bills?

After about a week and a half of stressing we finally heard back from Aetna and they approved the appeal and put all of us back on! Thank GOODNESS. The only downfall is now we have to back pay our premiums for those months, months we didn't know they weren't taking the money out.

After all was said and done this was definitely stress that was unwanted and definitely unneeded!!

Party all week!!

Brooklyn's Birthday was yesterday and we have been partying since Saturday really. Monday we went to the zoo with Kambry and Jessica. It was perfect weather, a cool breeze and in the mid 70's. We really enjoyed ourselves. Oh, I forgot to mention Brooklyn got a zoo membership from all of Clark's family on Saturday so we wasted NO time in using it! Thanks again Phillips gang!!

The Camel...I thought I would pay for a ride with the camel and once I got up there the guy said I couldn't while pointing to my pregnant belly. I didn't even realize, ha. So Jessica was kind enough to go for me...She was more nervous than Brooklyn.

I didn't know if Brookie really liked it but Jessica told me afterwords that the whole time she was talking in her high pitch voice and was all excited saying Camel...gibberish...and then more camel...I couldn't hear her from where I was standing, it was definitely in her high pitch voice that everyone knows so well.

We ended the day with a train ride and then lunch. Man, I look fat already, haha.
We are definitely going to enjoy that zoo membership! Brookie loves animals!!

Beach Bash

Brooklyn's Beach Bash
May 22nd 3-5 pm

Here are some before the party pictures:

Big THANKS to my friend Cherise for making the cake!! I usually would do it but this year I wanted a little less stress in my life so I turned to her, SO glad I did!

During the party Dan was kind enough to take pictures for me so I could run the games and bouncer! Thanks Dan!

We started off with our digging for prizes

I put numbers 1-4 in the sand and each kid had a chance to dig for one. Whichever one they pulled that's the prize they got! I think it was well liked from all the kids, younger and older!

Shhh....we rigged it so Brooklyn could win chalk...she wouldn't stop playing with them before the party!

Then we had the younger kids get on the bouncer

Brooklyn LOVED it! We got the bouncer earlier that day so Brooklyn, Daddy, and I got to have some fun together...Hey there is NO weight limit so no worries we didn't Pop it!

While the little ones were bouncing we had the older kids decorating cookies

This was the table after all the kids decorated cookies! They definitely had fun with the sprinkles!!

Then the big kids turn, Brookie didn't want to get off so I let her stay on and she didn't have an issue with being bounced around by them!

We ended the party with gifts and singing...Thank you to all who got her something, she was definitely spoiled and loves it all.

I thought the party went great and the kids had fun! It was nice having so many kids over and enjoying them having a good time.

Brooklyn got to stay up till 7 jumping and playing with cousins but by then she was shot, she slept in an extra 3 hours Sunday morning! She talks about her party...bouncing, cake, cookies, bouncing...

I can't believe our little girl is going to be 2 tomorrow! She has filled our lives with SO much love, laughter, and joy that we can't imagine our family without her!!

Happy Birthday Brooklyn, we Love you oh SO much!

Birthday Invites

We had Brooklyn's 2nd birthday party yesterday and I thought it went great...

Here are Brooklyn's "paper" invites

For her friends we did something a little different. Here's what we did:

{excuse the picture...it was taken from my phone, hence why I am apologizing!}

We put all the info on the ball and gave them to the friends. I thought it was great so the kids could have a toy to play with even after the event. I might have to do this every year, find a cute way of doing the invites.

Well I will put up her Birthday Party pictures next...

Sneak Peak

Well, I don't believe the colors in this picture do it justice, they look a little faded but you get the idea. I'm still not done with all the flowers on the tree or any other part of the bedroom for that matter...But just thought I'd share a little.
